No matter the size or number of cracks or holes, it’s possible to repair drywall leaving no evidence that the wall was ever damaged, particularly if the entire wall is re-painted. Otherwise I see no downside (assuming it is as stable as one would hope for a drywall patch, as I questioned above).

Apply drywall tape or HYDE’s Wet & Set (in roll form) over the clips and seams, and you’re ready to finish with mud—in other words, joint compound. Outer drywall corners are reinforced with metal or plastic edging, called corner bead. Amongst all the other techniques, drywall repairing is one of the most common ways of repairing the damaged walls.
The most commonly used drywall is one-half-inch thick but can range from one quarter (6.35 mm) to one inch (25 mm). But double check the thickness of your existing drywall before heading to your local independent home improvement retailer. Find a scrap of drywall that’s the same thickness as the damaged drywall, and cut out a square-cornered patch big enough to cover the hole.
