Previously, customers have dealt with EQC and/or Fletcher EQR – depending on what stage their repairs have been at. But EQC is now the main point of contact for all customers, including those whose properties are included the sub-floor repair review being carried out by Fletcher EQR staff. Like taxes, insurance costs are usually collected and paid from an escrow account. We also compare just your expected monthly mortgage payment (including taxes and insurance) to your gross monthly income. Information on additional home repair assistance programs is provided in the links to the right. Once the application is received and reviewed, the Home Repair Program Coordinator or Habitat volunteer supervisor will inspect the home to assess the project requirements, materials and cost, which are added to the application within 24 hours.
Your group’s role in the home repair ministry is to do the work necessary to complete the repairs assigned by our construction coordinators. Once we get to know these families through personal contacts and local agencies, we use an extensive selection process to choose which families need the most urgent repairs.
The Home Repair program accepts home repair projects that do not exceed $10,000 and should be targeted to one specific repair per application. The Home Repair Program’s Aging in Place component offers a special Home Support for Seniors” program that makes accessibility and energy efficiency improvements for Morris County households with a member aged 62 and over.
EQC is working with a range of social, health and welfare agencies to identify vulnerable people whose repairs should be given priority. When your repairs are completed, you’ll meet the work supervisor to inspect the work and confirm that the job has been completed, to the appropriate standard.
